    Sleeve Gastrectomy

    Sleeve Gastrectomy

A surgical weight-loss procedure in which the stomach is reduced to about 15% of its original size, by removing a large portion of the stomach along the greater curvature, resulting in a sleeve or tube-like structure. The procedure permanently reduces the size of the stomach, although there could be some dilatation of the stomach later on in life. The procedure is generally performed laparoscopically and is irreversible.

Sadi procedure (single anastomosis duodenoileal bypass)

Sadi procedure (single anastomosis duodenoileal bypass)

It is a laparoscopic procedure involving 2 parts:
1- Part of the stomach is removed making a smaller stomach similar to a sleeve gastrectomy.
2- The first part of the intestine (duodenum) is divided just below the stomach and reattached to a loop of intestine about 2 meters further downstream. This has the effect of decreasing appetite, restricting meal sizes, and bypassing food away from the metabolically active part of the intestine.

    BPD Switch Operation

    BPD Switch Operation

BPD/DS is a complex procedure that tackles weight loss in 3 different ways:
1- A sleeve gastrectomy is performed.
2- Reroutes food away from the upper part of the small intestine, which is the natural path of digestion, cutting back on how many calories and nutrients your body can absorb.
3- Changing the normal way that bile and digestive juices break down food. One end of the small intestine is connected to the duodenum, near the bottom of the stomach. This cuts back on how many calories you absorb, causing still more weight loss.

    Gastric Bypass Operation

    Gastric Bypass Operation

A surgical procedure that involves bypassing a large section of the stomach and creating a small stomach pouch for digestion. Also, by-passing a part of the intestines so that a portion of the nutrients is discarded without being absorbed.

Sasi operation (single anastmosis sleeve ileum bypass)

Sasi operation (single anastmosis sleeve ileum bypass)

A Novel Metabolic/Bariatric Surgery operation based on mini gastric bypass operation and Santoro‘s operation in which a sleeve gastrectomy is followed by a side to side gastroileal anastmosis.

    Intragastric Baloon

    Intragastric Balloon

A saline-filled silicone balloon is placed in your stomach, which helps you lose weight by limiting how much you can eat. It also makes you feel fuller faster. This procedure is recommended if you’re overweight or obese, and diet and exercise haven’t worked for you.
